Q – Questions

Just like staring, questions are a part of human nature. Questions are good, it’s how we show interest, how we engage with others, how we learn about things throughout life.

Certain situations in life require a bit of tact, if you’re going to ask someone what’s ‘wrong’ with them, heads up, this is one of those situations.

If someone genuinely would like to know something about me or my condition, I usually am more than happy to answer. I actually prefer people asking rather than assuming. What I absolutely cannot get behind, is the first thing coming out peoples’ mouth – ‘what’s wrong with your legs’.

JUST NO.

This probably sounds ridiculous to most people but I cannot tell you how many times has happened to me.

It just does not compute with me, how that could across the mind as acceptable. Like when I was in a nightclub a few months ago and the bouncer asked me if my feet were fucked as I walked past him. I literally have been ased, word for word:

‘Why are you walking like that, have you had too much anal?’

As I walked past a man on holiday. It happens at work, in the street, waiting for lifts, in shops, pubs, clubs and it’s annoying.

I often remember that I don’t owe anyone an answer, and sometimes like to throw out an answer like ‘oh I have hockey sticks for legs so it’s quite hard to balance’. The funniest part is that people have looked back at me as if I have mad audacity for giving them a cheeky answer.

Rant over, xoxo
